SAN ILDEFONSO, ILOCOS SUR, Philippines — Residents in Ilocos Norte experienced fluctuating electricity supply on Thursday (Oct. 8) after the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) delivered low voltage to the province, according to the Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative Inc. (INEC).

In an advisory, INEC said it received reports from consumers about the fluctuating power supply and conducted an investigation of its lines and system.

According to INEC, the voltage fluctuations were caused by a sudden increase in power generation from wind farms.

As of 12:05 p.m., NGCP had informed INEC that the voltage delivery had stabilized, the cooperative said.

INEC advised consumers to remain alert for further developments and said it would continue monitoring the power system. /cb
