This City Is Ours has confirmed a season two release date, with a first look at Endeavour star Shaun Evans. The crime drama debuted on BBC One last year, and proved to be a hit with viewers.

It has now been confirmed that the second run will drop in full on BBC iPlayer on Sunday, 25 October, while the show will air on BBC One at 9pm on Sunday and Monday nights from then.

A new trailer has also just dropped showing Evans's Ozzie Thompson, a former gangster who has recently been released from prison.

Also spotted are newcomer Álvaro Morte (Money Heist) as Ricardo's younger brother and Colombian cartel member Felipe Guzman, as well as Jamie Phelan (Jack McMullen), Banksey (Mike Noble), Elaine Phelan (Julie Graham), Rachel Duffy (Laura Aikman), Bobby Duffy (Kevin Harvey), Cheryl Crawford (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), Melissa Sullivan (Darci Shaw), Freddie (Adam Abbou) and Bonehead (Bobby Schofield).

"Picking up from where things were left at the end of series one, Michael and Diana have barely arrived in Spain when they are dragged back into the fold to answer questions around Ricardo’s death," the synopsis reads.

"Back in Liverpool, tensions continue to bubble amongst the remaining members of the gang. Meanwhile, an old school gangster from Ronnie's era, recently out of prison, wants compensation from the firm."

A first look at the new season was unveiled back in August in a series of official stills, while we were also given filming stills earlier in the year.

"My heartfelt thanks also to Lindsay Salt and her wonderful team at BBC Drama for their unflinching support and continued belief in the show, our story and our characters - and not least for this opportunity to do it all over again! See you soon!"

This City Is Ours returns on Sunday, 25 October on BBC iPlayer, and 9pm on Sunday and Monday nights on BBC One.
