Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche, has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, for his developmental strides across the state during his tenure as governor.

Nwuche, who is the Chairman of the Governing Board of the South-South Development Commission, gave the commendation during a thank-you visit by the Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Solomon Ochoma, to his hometown in Ochigba Community.

According to a statement on Friday, the former Deputy Speaker, who was represented by Chief Kingdom Ajugo, said the level of infrastructural development witnessed under Wike’s administration was unprecedented, noting that over 1,000 kilometres of roads were completed and commissioned.

He stated that the road projects connected rural communities to urban centres, opened up previously inaccessible areas and stimulated local economic activities.

He also cited numerous projects executed across the education, health, security and social sectors.

Nwuche praised Wike for the various development projects executed across Ekpeye Kingdom during his administration, describing them as a significant departure from the record of previous civilian administrations since the return to democratic rule in 1999.

In his response, the council chairman said his visit was aimed at appreciating the people of Ochigba for their support and votes during the local government election.

Earlier, the Paramount Ruler of Ochigba Community, Chief James Anyike, thanked Nwuche for his generosity and for remaining a pillar of support for the community.
