Watch the highlights from Fiorentina’s dramatic 4-2 victory away to Venezia, which saw Franco Mastantuono make history with a hat-trick on loan from Real Madrid.
The Viola were making their ‘debut’ under new coach Paolo Vanoli, who returned to the bench this week after the sensational sacking of Fabio Grosso.
Vanoli had of course rescued the club from relegation last term, but his contract was not extended beyond June 30.
He made an immediate impact, as after three defeats out of three in Serie A, Fiorentina crushed Venezia 4-2.
Mastantuono shines for Fiorentina
Mastantuono was the star of the show with a hat-trick, an historic event seeing as he became the youngest player ever to score three goals in a single competitive match for the Tuscan team.
The 19-year-old Argentina international had struggled so far in his Italian career since making the loan move from Real Madrid, but truly flourished on the Laguna with this treble.
Real Madrid had paid €45m to buy him from River Plate only a year ago, but he was sent out on a dry loan to ensure he had more regular playing time.
They hope that Serie A can do for Mastantuono what Como did for Nico Paz.
