LIST: Road closures in Manila for Sept. 21 Martial Law anniv (Monday)

MANILA, Philippines — Several roads in Manila City will be restricted on Monday, Sept. 21, to make way for activities relating to the 54th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law, the Manila Police District (MPD) said.
In a traffic advisory, the MPD listed the following areas affected by road closures starting 12:01 a.m. on Monday:

- All vehicles coming from Quezon Blvd. and C.M. Recto Ave. intending to use Mendiola St. shall turn left to N. Reyes St. to the point of destination.
- All vehicles coming from Sta. Mesa Area via Legarda St. intending to use C.M. Recto Ave. shall turn right to Figueras St. straight to Earnshaw St. to the point of destination.
- All vehicles coming from P. Casal St. intending to use Mendiola St. shall turn left to San Rafael St. straight to Bilibid Viejo St. going to Quezon Blvd. to the point of destination.
Liwasang Bonifacio
- All vehicles coming from P. Burgos Ave. Northbound lanes intending to use Magallanes Drive shall go straight to Jones Bridge to the point of destination.
- All vehicles coming from McArthur Bridge intending to utilize Magallanes Drive shall go straight to P. Burgos Ave. Southbound lane to point of destination to the point of destination.
Ayala Bridge

- All vehicles coming from Romualdez St. intending to use Ayala Bridge shall turn left to Ayala Blvd. then turn right to Taft Ave. to the point of destination or shall go straight to N. Lopez then turn right to A. Villegas then left to C. Muñoz to the point of destination.
- All vehicles coming from San Marcelino St. intending to use Ayala Bridge shall turn right to Ayala Blvd then turn right to Taft Ave to point of destination or shall go straight along San Marcelino St. then turn left to UN Avenue to the point of destination.
- All vehicles coming from Ayala Blvd Eastbound lane intending to use Ayala Bridge shall turn right San Marcelino to the point of destination.
- All vehicles coming from C. Palanca St. Intending to use Ayala Bridge shall turn left to P. Casal to the point of destination.
- All vehicles coming from P. Casal intending to use Ayala Bridge shall turn right to C. Palanca to the point of destination.
The Philippine National Police earlier said it will deploy around 15,000 personnel to ensure the orderly and peaceful conduct of rallies on Monday.
This action came after the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan announced it would stage public demonstrations in Liwasang Bonifacio and Mediola to commemorate the anniversary of Martial Law and stage protests against the administration. /apl
