Liverpool Football Club have released a new biography honouring the life and legacy of former forward Diogo Jota, with profits from the book set to fund a grassroots football programme established in his name through the LFC Foundation.
In a post obtained from the club’s X handle on Thursday, titled Forever in Our Hearts, the book was written by Portuguese author and former professional footballer José Delgado and published by Reach Sport.
It chronicles Jota’s journey from his early years in Portugal to becoming one of his generation’s most admired players and a beloved member of Liverpool’s football family.
The biography draws on extensive interviews with family members, friends, teammates and coaches, including contributions from Jota’s wife, Rute, his parents, Isabel and Joaquim, former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp, and more than 90 other people who knew him closely.
Through their personal accounts, the book offers an intimate portrait of Jota’s character, highlighting his footballing talent, determination, humility and the relationships that shaped his life and career.
It also celebrates the special bond between Jota and his brother, André Silva, while reflecting on the lasting impact both men had on their teammates, supporters and the wider football community.
Jota enjoyed a remarkable career that included Premier League success with Liverpool and UEFA Nations League glory with Portugal, earning admiration for his performances and contributions to the teams he represented.
However, the book also addresses the tragic events surrounding the deaths of Jota and André in July 2025, following Jota’s marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Rute. Their deaths prompted an outpouring of grief and tributes from across the football world.

Speaking about the project, Delgado said the book began as an opportunity to preserve Jota’s memory during a period of profound sadness.
“My commitment throughout was to tell his story with care, honesty and respect for Diogo, André, and the family and friends who loved them,” he said.
The author added that the generosity of those who shared their memories helped bring the brothers’ personalities and the depth of affection people had for them to life.
Delgado also highlighted the unique relationship between Jota and Liverpool, noting that those he encountered during his research spoke not only about the forward’s ability on the pitch but also his humility, commitment and character.
He expressed hope that _Forever in Our Hearts_ would serve as a fitting tribute to Jota’s life and legacy while inspiring future generations.
The book is available through official Liverpool FC stores and online, with all profits from LFC supporting the grassroots football programme being established in Jota’s name.
The release comes as Liverpool continues to honour the memory of Jota and his brother. Earlier in 2026, the club unveiled a permanent memorial outside Anfield, providing supporters with a place to remember the brothers and reflect on their enduring influence on the football community.
Through the biography and the planned grassroots initiative, Liverpool aims to ensure that Jota’s legacy extends beyond his achievements on the pitch, creating opportunities for future generations to experience and benefit from the game he loved.
