‘We will cut off your fingers one by one’: Politician, activist Haddad receives death threats

Haddad, currently the second candidate on the People of Israel’s party list, is considered a hostile figure in Iran.

A series of emails containing explicit threats against his life were sent on Tuesday to People of Israel (Amcha Yisrael) candidate and activist Yoseph Haddad. 

"We will cut off your fingers one by one and dismember your bodies together with the Americans. We are men of war. Damn you,” said the emails.

Based on their messages and their style, the emails appear to have been sent by figures from the Iranian regime, according to a statement from Dudi Avitan, Haddad’s strategic advisor. 

Haddad dismisses threats

"The Iranian regime has never been more predictable,” Haddad said regarding the incident. “I also receive explicit death threats on social media. It did not frighten me in the past, and it does not frighten me today. On the contrary, it strengthens me.”

I will continue to act for the State of Israel and for Israeli society. And to the enemies threatening us from Iran to Gaza, I offer the well-known Arabic saying: Go pave the ocean with tiles,” he concluded.

The Iranian Intelligence Ministry published a list of hostile figures in Israel, according to Avitan, whom the Iranian people are prohibited from contacting.

Haddad, who is currently the second candidate on the People of Israel’s party list, appears near the top of Iran’s list.
