Arab Israelis report receiving call to vote on Election Day in name of murdered girl Sousan Sultan
The call was recorded by Sousan Sultan, whose sister, Susan, was killed in April, 2025, and whose husband, Ziad, was murdered in August 2026.
Over 1,000,000 Israeli-Arab citizens received a recorded call on Tuesday, Election Day, in which they were asked to vote in the name of an Arab girl who was murdered in 2025.
The call was recorded by Sousan Sultan, whose sister, Susan, was killed in April, 2025, and whose husband, Ziad, was murdered in August 2026.
"My sister was murdered, and she cannot vote in the election," Sousan said in the call. "This is a fateful election. I ask that you go out and vote in the name of my sister Susan."
Standing Together: Election Day is chance to change Israeli-Arab situation
The Standing Together organization said that the 2026 elections represented a chance to change the situation for Israeli Arabs.
"The situation in our society has reached an unprecedented low; violence and crime have become the norm, and we can no longer remain silent in the face of this," the organization stated.
"Today, we are taking responsibility and heading to the polls to put an end to this distorted reality. A Jewish-Arab partnership is the path toward change and rectifying the situation."
