Love Island winner Julia says 'heart is a little broken' as she confirms split from Lorenzo

Love Island winner Julia Majchrzak has confirmed that she and Lorenzo Alessi have split after two months, admitting on live TV that her “heart is a little broken”.

The couple, who met on the 13th season of the hit ITV reality dating show, won over the British public and were crowned winners in July, bagging the £50,000 prize pot.

However, ever since leaving the villa, rumours were rife that the winning couple had split, following a lack of social media posts and an awkward This Morning appearance.

However, just a day later, the pair had announced that they had decided to call it a day.

In an Instagram post sharing pictures of their night at the NTAs, Majchrzak wrote: “Since leaving the villa, we’ve come to the decision to go our separate ways. Some chapters are special even if they’re not meant to last forever.

“We shared an unforgettable experience together, and those memories will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m looking forward to everything this next chapter has in store for both of us.”

Just hours before, Majchrzak became emotional as she discussed the breakup during an interview with Polish publication, Super Express.

She said: “It's been hard for us this past week. Even the entire time we left the villa. But life in the villa is completely different from life outside.

“We're disconnected from the outside world, from our phones… Two months removed from the world. We were getting to know each other there and getting along great, but it wasn't real life - we were disconnected from everything.”

She said entering real life was “overwhelming” and that despite trying to navigate it together as a united front, the couple found their new found-fame stressful at times.

“We really decided that it was time to just go our separate ways and go our separate ways for now,” she said, before breaking down in tears.

She said that their shared experience means that “no one can understand me like he does”.

Their journey began during Casa Amor, when Majchrzak arrived on Day 23 and got the attention of bachelor Alessi.

They quickly coupled up and despite some drama involving Majchrzak and the main villa girls, made it all the way to the final and won.
