Leigh-Anne Pinnock reveals advice she received from former Celebrity Traitor

Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock says she has received advice from a former star on Celebrity Traitors to help her survive the game.

The 34-year0old, best known for being part of the girl group alongside Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall, is among the celebrities set to appear in the upcoming second series of the BBC reality gameshow.

The popstar said Edwards was “so excited” for her prior to stepping into the Scottish castle.

She said: “Everyone’s super excited really. I think it’s just that everyone loves the show.

“It’s just so big and it’s crazy. I’m feeling so grateful to be a part of it.”

She also revealed that her strategy going into the game was to be “cool as a cucumber” after being inspired by former Celebrity Traitors star, singer Cat Burns.

She said: “Cat Burns was so calm. She’s my inspiration for this. I actually spoke to her as well before coming in. I love her.

“She had good advice, she said it might get intense around that Round Table – but remember, it’s just a game.

“So, my focus is to just keep it cool. She also said you’re just going to have the best time, and you’ll make so many friends. I can’t wait.”

Burns was among the line-up to appear in the first series of the celebrity spin-off show, and made it to the final as one of the original traitors.

She did not make it through, however, and was voted out – with fellow traitor comedian Alan Carr taking home the winning title.

Pinnock went on to describe how her time in the girl band may be an advantage to her during the course of the game because people “don’t really know my personality that well”.

She said: “It will be really amazing for me to show who I am, so people get to know me as an individual and hopefully make their judgment on that rather than what they know of me as a performer.”

Pinnock rose to fame after winning The X Factor in 2011 as part of the girl group behind the hit songs including Wings, Shout Out To My Ex and Sweet Melody.

After Jesy Nelson left the band in December 2020, the group continued to perform as a trio until they went on a hiatus in 2022.

They have since all launched their solo careers – with Pinnock releasing her debut solo album, My Ego Told Me To, earlier this year.

Going by the stage name Leigh-Anne, the singer has also released the songs My Love, Don’t Say Love and Been A Minute.

Earlier this year, she announced she was pregnant with her third child which she shares with her husband, footballer Andre Gray.

The Celebrity Traitors returns to BBC One and iPlayer on October 1 at 8pm.
