Smith moves to top of Buckeyes' all-time receiving yardage list

Ohio State star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith broke the Buckeyes' career receiving yardage record during Saturday's game against Kent State.
Smith surpassed Michael Jenkins' all-time mark of 2,898 yards with a 23-yard grab on Ohio State's second drive to set the record.
The junior, who is projected as a top-five pick in next year's NFL draft by ESPN, had 1,315 receiving yards as a true freshman two years ago, then finished with 1,243 yards last season. He had 315 and three touchdowns through Ohio State's first two games.
Going into Saturday, Smith needed just six more touchdowns to break Chris Olave's school record (35) for scoring receptions. He also was 27 catches short of surpassing Emeka Egbuka's school record of 205 total receptions.
