Jakarta (ANTARA) - Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi said the ministry had prepared an Integrated Command Post for Christmas 2026 and New Year 2027 transport operations to strengthen coordination, monitoring, and the swift handling of disruptions across the country.

The command post is scheduled to operate from December 18, 2026, to January 6, 2027, serving as a coordination center for national transportation operations during the year-end holiday period.

“To support transportation monitoring, the ministry is scheduling the 2026/2027 Christmas and New Year Integrated Command Post from December 18, 2026, to January 6, 2027, for a period of 20 days,” Purwagandhi said here on Tuesday.

Through the command post, the ministry and relevant stakeholders will monitor transportation conditions in an integrated manner to identify potential disruptions at an early stage, he said.

“This command post will serve as a platform for integrated coordination and monitoring of transportation conditions with stakeholders, enabling potential disruptions to be anticipated and addressed quickly,” the minister said.

Purwagandhi urged all transportation operators to support the command post by providing operational information promptly, accurately, and continuously throughout the year-end holiday period.

He stressed that the success of Christmas and New Year transportation operations would depend on strong coordination among all stakeholders, as well as their ability to carry out their responsibilities and resolve obstacles quickly and effectively.

The Indonesian government expects the command post to serve as the main instrument for operational oversight, helping ensure smooth transportation services and improved service quality during the 2026/2027 Christmas and New Year holidays.

“We measure the success of Christmas and New Year operations by public safety and the quality of service people experience from the time they leave until they return home. Behind every ticket is someone whose family is waiting. That is the responsibility we share,” Purwagandhi said.
