Yet another woman’s body has been discovered in Ekurhuleni, with the latest case reported along a railway line in Struisbult, Springs.
The discovery brings the number of women’s bodies found in Ekurhuleni over the past two months to 11.
A further body was found in Soweto a week ago, bringing the reported total number of women’s bodies discovered in Gauteng during the period to 12.

According to police, the latest body was spotted by a security company vehicle patrolling the area.
The security personnel alerted law enforcement authorities, who responded to the scene.

Police investigation
Gauteng Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni was en route to the scene following the discovery.
The latest case comes as a dedicated police task team continues investigating the deaths of women whose bodies have been found across Ekurhuleni.
Police have previously said senior police leadership, crime intelligence and experienced investigators are involved in monitoring progress in the investigations.
