Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky Baby’s Name and Sex Revealed
The Mother Monster is mothering in a different way these days.
Days after news broke that Lady Gaga and her fiancé Michael Polansky had welcomed their first baby together, more details about their family's new addition have come to light.
Their daughter Rose Bean Polansky was born on June 9 in Los Angeles, according to a birth certificate obtained by TMZ.
While the "Born This Way" singer has not publicly spoken out about her baby girl, the name Rose appears to be a nod to the Édith Piaf song "La Vie En Rose," which Gaga famously covered in her 2018 movie A Star Is Born. She also has the flower and the title of the track tattooed on her back.
And Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) has always felt like the was on the edge of glory to parenthood.
"I’m excited to be a mom," she told the New York Times in 2025. "The thing that’s the most important to me is to not force my children to live a life that they are not choosing. So the more that we can give them space to discover who they are on their own, that’s the thing that I believe in the most."
That's why she hopes her daughter will grow up being able to see beyond the perfect illusion.
"If our children only understand Mommy’s job, that’s a very narrow view of life," she explained. "There’s so much in the world, and I want them to be able to choose for themselves who they want to be."
That's why the Grammy winner initially had "a lot of apprehension" about becoming a mother given her level of fame.
"There’s an incredible amount of narcissism in this," she admitted. "How do I live a life where I’m passionate about my art while also making more space for other things?"

In fact, she and Polansky—who went public with their relationship in 2020 after meeting at a birthday party the prior year—have "talked about a lot" on how to raise a family together.
"It’s such an intense thing for kids coming into the world," she told Elle U.K. in 2025. "I just kind of want to let my kids find out who they are."
Still, the Joker: Folie à Deux actress recognizes that her child will "most certainly" have questions about her career.
"My kid might one day say 'Mom, why do you do these things? I saw a funny video of you dressed up,'" she mused. "And you know, maybe it's okay to say, 'What do you think?'"

A Romance is Born
Following her 2019 breakup from Christian Carino, Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky were spotted sharing a kiss on New Year's Day in January 2020.

Gaga made her new romance social media official in February 2020, sharing a photo of her sitting on Polansky's lap at the Super Bowl on Instagram with the caption, "We had so much fun in Miami. Love to all my little monsters and fans, you're the best!"

Despite keeping a low profile since the start of their relationship, Gaga has let her love for Polansky, an entrepreneur and former CEO of the San Francisco-based Parker Group, shine through over the years. As she captioned a photo of the two in March 2020 with the caption, "I've got a STUPID love."
The Oscar winner also called Michael "the love of my life" during an April 2020 interview with MSNBC's Morning Joe.
And in March 2021, he surprised her with a massive flower arrangement for her 35th birthday, prompting Gaga to share on Instagram, "I love you honey. I can't wait to be home with you and our dogs, that's all I need."

Also in 2021, following the February attack on her French bulldogs and dog walker Ryan Fischer, the "Born This Way" singer made a rare comment about her and Polansky's life together, telling The Hollywood Reporter, "My dogs and the man that I love are my whole life."

After winning Artist of the Year at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, the "Abracadabra" singer praised Polansky for his partnership on her Mayhem album and for loving her in a way she has "never known."
