Rasaki earns Africa call-up for ATF tourney
Nigeria’s rising tennis star Mabubat Rasaki has been selected among Africa’s eight best U-12 players for the ATF U-12 Intercontinental Tennis Championship in Kazakhstan, scheduled for October 10 to 18, 2026, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The 12-year-old, who hails from Oyo State, earned her place following a series of impressive performances in domestic and international competitions, which earned her recognition from the Confederation of African Tennis.
Rasaki departed for Kazakhstan on Friday, October 9, to join the other selected African players for the championship, where they will compete against some of the best young talents from other continents.
Her selection marks a significant milestone in her development and offers an opportunity to gain valuable international experience while testing her abilities against players from different tennis backgrounds.
The youngster’s progress also highlights the importance of identifying and nurturing young talents as Nigeria seeks to strengthen its presence in international tennis.
