Before I Fall (2017) director Ry Russo-Young is hitting the road for her next feature, the Gemma Holdway-penned horror Get Rid of It.

Daisy Ridley (Ebenezer, Star Wars), Sosie Bacon (Smile, Scarpetta) and Simon Rex (Red Rocket, Blink Twice) have been cast in the film from Oscar-nominated producer David Lancaster (Whiplash, Nightcrawler, Drive), which is expected to begin filming at the start of 2027.

In Get Rid of It, Harper (Ridley) and her sister Jessie (Bacon) embark on a cross-country road trip when Harper discovers she’s pregnant after a one-night-stand with a mysterious drifter named Miller (Rex). The sisters find themselves fighting for survival as they discover the thing growing inside Harper may not be human.

“Propulsive and playful, this project’s strength is its compelling point of view and heart beneath the horror,” said Russo-Young, who also directed 2019’s The Sun Is Also a Star, as well as episodes of Shrinking and And Just Like That. “I’m thrilled to bring it to life with such an extraordinary and gifted group of collaborators.”

Ridley is repped by CAA, Bacon by Gersh Agency and Rex by Buchwald.

Upgrade, CAA Media Finance and Range Select are leading sales for Get Rid of It, which they will present to buyers at the upcoming fall market.
