'The picture of manpower': IDF reports defense accomplishments three years into war
Three years since October 7, the IDF has struck nearly 100,000 targets, eliminated a swath of high-ranking terrorist officials, and expanded security efforts throughout all of its divisions.
The IDF has attacked nearly 100,000 targets since the October 7 massacre, the military showed in a Wednesday report detailing defense accomplishments over the past three years.
Around 65,000 of the targets were in Gaza, 28,000 in Lebanon and Syria, 4,500 were located in Iran, and 80 were in Yemen.
The report also showed the total number of ballistic missiles launched from each country, with 50 having come from Syria, 1,200 from Iran, 20,000 from Lebanon, 10,200 from Gaza, and 90 from Yemen.
A graphic depicting high-ranking officials who had been killed by the IDF was also included in the report.
Among the officials in the image are high-ranking officials from Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Hezbollah’s former Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah and former head of Hezbollah's Executive Council Hashem Safieddine were among those killed, as well as fourth chairman of Hamas’ political bureau Yahya Sinwar, sixth commander of Hamas’s Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades Mohammed Deif, IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Ali Hajizadeh, and IRGC Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami, among many others.
IDF recounts accomplishments across commands
The report also described lessons learned and accomplishments achieved by different defense divisions during three years of war.
The IDF's Southern Command, for example, established about 40 new outposts, while the Intelligence Division established a unique data division for preserving and extracting intelligence information within the division.
The Air Force learned to formulate dedicated commands and decentralize authorities on the ground in readiness for sudden scenarios.
Central Command saw the establishment of the 96th “Gilead” Division on the eastern border and the Dead Sea Air Command for regional defense.
Home Front Command, on the other hand, worked on developing warning and defense capabilities, including extending defense times and adapting them to the threat and location.
The IDF’s Technology and Logistics Division created an “acceleration” program to rapidly restore weapons and infrastructure to operational capability.
The report also included a section with data on the military's troops, noting that 970 soldiers have been killed since the start of the war and highlighting soldiers' willingness to participate in defense efforts.
More than 70% of wounded soldiers returned to service, according to the report, and reserves increased by about 36%.
Finally, the report listed the nine new divisions that have been established in the military over the last three years, including the Hashomer Brigade, the David Brigades, and Division 38.
