CHICAGO -- Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is considered "week-to-week" with a right hamstring injury he sustained in a 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, coach Ben Johnson said Monday morning.
During an appearance on ESPN 1000, Johnson said he anticipates Williams will be sidelined for "some time."
"It sounds like it's going to be a week-to-week deal for him," Johnson said. "I've got to still talk with our trainer. We'll do that here shortly and I'll have the lowdown from him. But it sounds like it's week to week but will likely miss some time."
Williams underwent an MRI on Monday morning to assess the severity of his hamstring injury.
Johnson was noncommittal when asked whether he felt the Bears had dodged a bullet with the extent of Williams' injury not being more severe.
"Yeah, potentially," Johnson said. "Potentially. You know, we'll see. He's tough and he comes back from these types of things, I think, better than the average human being. So, we'll see."
