"I know the mall has cameras, so hopefully we'll get some of that footage."

One person was killed and six others were injured in a shooting at a Spirit Halloween store inside the Solano Town Center in Fairfield, California, police said.

Fairfield police responded to the shooting at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, according to a statement from the police department. Seven people were found with gunshot wounds, one of whom died from their injuries.

The six other victims were taken to local hospitals, with at least three in critical condition, police said.

The victims' identities have not been released.

"We encourage anyone in the community with information to contact the Fairfield Police Department," Fairfield Chief of Police Dan Marshall said during a press conference just before midnight. "I know the mall has cameras, so hopefully we'll get some of that footage."

The shooting remains an active crime scene, and detectives are speaking with witnesses and working to identify the suspect responsible, police said.
