"The best movie of 2026": Netflix has just added "remarkable" drama with 98% rating

Heralded as "the best movie of 2026", director Lee Chang-dong's latest movie Possible Love has dropped on Netflix worldwide today.
The film, starring Jeon Do-yeon, Sul Kyung-gu, Zo In-sung, and Cho Yeo-jeong, has been a huge hit, dominating award ceremonies since its release in September, and currently boasts a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Possible Love follows two married couples on opposite ends of Korea's economic scale. The pairs come together to film a documentary and, in the process, are faced with many hard lessons regarding their own lives and relationships.

Rolling Stone gave the film a glowing review, describing it as: "...Lee’s strongest film to date — and arguably the best movie of the year, even when you consider that 2026 has gifted us with an unabashed abundance of great work..."
Continuing to heap praise on Lee's latest, they called Possible Love an "awe-inspiring, gasp-inducing movie that works extremely well with a crowd".
In their first-look review, Little White Lies wrote: "It's a remarkable feat that Lee contains so many narrative threads within Possible Love without ever losing command of them."
Elsewhere, Slate said: "Lee’s stellar quartet of leads give us complicated humans rather than representative figures, people who may do things for good reasons or bad but rarely for only one."

In a five-star review, London Standard asked: "Why did Lee title the movie Possible Love?", following up with: "Let that question be open as the potential for genuine empathy across class divides and fractured lives is lovingly put under the microscope. For those who like their movies real, this is possibly the finest they’ll see for a long while."
Possible Love's worldwide Netflix debut comes after the film first premiered in the main competition of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival on September 6, 2026, where it managed to scoop both the Grand Jury Prize and the FIPRESCI Prize, voted by the International Federation of Film Critics.
It was later theatrically released across South Korea on 23 September and received a United States release on 23 October.
