New Blood: Tame Impala & JENNIE’s ‘Dracula’ Hits No. 1 on Radio Songs Chart

Tame Impala and JENNIE’s “Dracula” sinks its teeth into the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s all-format Radio Songs chart (dated Sept. 26). Up one place, it drew 62.6 million in airplay audience Sept. 11-17, according to Luminate.

The song, originally released by Tame Impala solo last October, while its duet version arrived in early February, becomes each artist’s first leader on the list. Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker previously hit the chart’s top 10 as a cowriter and coproducer, of Dua Lipa’s “Houdini” (No. 7 in 2024). The act first made Billboard’s charts in 2010.

JENNIE previously appeared on Radio Songs with “One of the Girls,” with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp (No. 48, 2024). (BLACKPINK, with JENNIE as a member, has yet to reach the ranking.)

“Dracula,” on Columbia Records, returns to its No. 5 high on the Billboard Hot 100, having become the first top 10 for both Tame Impala and JENNIE. It dominates the multimetric Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for a 37th week and Hot Rock & Alternative Songs for a 19th frame.

The crossover hit leads Adult Pop Airplay for a ninth week, after it topped Pop Airplay for seven weeks and Alternative Airplay for two. It hit No. 2 on Adult Alternative Airplay and has reached the top 15 on Adult Contemporary.

Parker and JENNIE cowrote “Dracula” with Sarah Aarons and Carly Gibert. Parker solely produced it.

“Dracula” took a long time, in the way that there are so many iterations of what it was,” Aarons told Billboard last year. “There was this one song that was what the chorus is — I call it the chorus, he calls it the pre-chorus — [sings] ‘In the end, I hope it’s you and me …’ We’d worked on that a couple years ago. Then there was this song that we’d written called ‘Dracula’ that his wife loved. One day he just sent me a thing. He was like, ‘I put the line from “Dracula” into this other idea.’ It was the [sings] ‘run from the sun like Dracula.’ He mashed that into that one line from this other idea, and I was like, ‘Oh damn, that’s kind of sick.’ ”
