Amazon Prime Video Debuts $30-A-Month Bundle With AMC+, BritBox, MGM+, PBS Masterpiece & Starz

In the latest addition to the bulging category of streaming bundles, Amazon Prime Video is launching a package including AMC+, BritBox, MGM+, PBS Masterpiece and Starz.

The $29.99-a-month U.S. offering is priced 39% below the cost of each of the five individual services.

In recent years, dozens of combinations of streaming have hit the market, creating a crowded marketplace. As streaming pay-TV provider YouTube TV has evolved into the No. 1 distributor, it has sliced and diced its offerings into a range of packages and price points. Rival operators Charter, Comcast and DirecTV have followed suit.

While it continues to support its own original titles, Prime Video is also increasingly looking to serve as a one-stop streaming shop for consumers disoriented by choice. Similar to rival Roku, the Amazon platform offers dozens of streaming services as add-ons for Prime subscribers, including a number of bundled offerings. The consumer proposition, along with creating a centralized hub where they can access streaming, is also to simplify payments. With individual services, a pain point for subscribers comes in with turning services on and off, changing tiers or updating credit cards across multiple providers.

The new bundle is the first Prime Video has offered encompassing five services. That number is not unprecedented in the market overall, however, as Comcast recently expanded its StreamSaver package to encompass six different streamers.

“Our subscriptions and bundles business continues to see incredible growth because we stay focused on delivering unmatched selection, value and convenience,” said Ryan Pirozzi, Head of Prime Video Channels, U.S.
