Thai Cultural Night brings Thai heritage to Moscow
MOSCOW, Russia — Thailand’s Culture Minister Sabida Thaiseth joined Thai Cultural Night in Moscow 2026 on Tuesday, wearing a traditional Thai sabai and highlighting cultural exchange as a way to strengthen ties between Thailand and Russia.
Organised by the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow, the event featured Thailand’s Contemporary Thai Music Ensemble performing with Russian artist Igor Butman and his quartet.
The event followed a Thai-Russian memorandum of understanding on cultural cooperation signed in February and is part of preparations for the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2027.
The Culture Ministry said the event also aimed to create international opportunities for Thai artists and creative-industry workers while promoting Thailand’s cultural heritage to Russian audiences.
