Coronation Street's Leanne Battersby caught out amid shock revenge plan

Translate

Coronation Street's Leanne Battersby continued her shocking revenge plan tonight after setting her sights on the Bistro. But her sly scheme raised the suspicions of her sister Toyah. Could another Battersby showdown be on the horizon?

Following a messy love triangle between the two sisters and Nick Tilsley, Leanne has made her disdain for the pair pretty clear. So when her new boyfriend Idris Nazir pointed out an opportunity to buy the Bistro at a reduced price, Leanne was immediately on board.

Knowing that the Bistro is struggling financially, especially after a recent food poisoning incident, Leanne suggested Nick should cut his losses and sell up. But in tonight's (15 October) episode Toyah cottons to Leanne's plan and accuses her of sabotage.

"I know what you're doing," Toyah said, confronting Leanne in the street. "Refusing to help Nick find a new supplier after the whole meat thing. Telling him he's running a failing business. I've got you and Idris sussed."

Leanne denied the accusations, telling Toyah there was "nothing to suss" and to "drop the smug face", but the latter stood her ground. Toyah explained her original theory about Leanne trying to "lure customers" into Speed Daal, which has been replaced with her new suspicions.

"You want him to think it's worth less than it is, so he'll flog it to you cheap," Toyah correctly pointed out.

The pair were interrupted by Leanne's half-sister Eva Price who tried to play peacemaker. But furious Leanne told Toyah she had "no right" to accuse her of anything after her betrayal with Nick.

"Oh okay. It's not about the money, then. It's what, some sort of delayed punishment?" Toyah replied, with Leanne brushing off the conversation.

Toyah then told Eva that Leanne was trying to "ruin" the Bistro, while Eva insisted that she "loves that place".

Has Toyah's astute observation spooked Leanne, or will she become more determined to steal the business?

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
