MobLand star teases how character "coming so close to death" will impact what happens in season 2

MobLand season 2 is less than a week away from premiering, and actor Mandeep Dhillon has shed a little more light on what her character Serphina Harrigan gets up to.

The daughter of Pierce Brosnan's Conrad went through a pretty horrific kidnapping ordeal in the first season, but if you were expecting her to withdraw into herself, think again.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Dhillon explained that Serphina has a fire lit under her this time around.

She said: "I love meeting her here. I think coming so close to death, obviously, traumatic, and I think with Seraphina, for season 2, she has promised herself that she will never be in that situation again where she is SO close to death.

"So I think that is sort of driving the why behind the why for her to get to where she wants to be.

"She knows that she's got to do things herself, and she's got to do what she's got to do in order to, 1: succeed, 2: go for the top, 3: to never be in that situation again, 4: to try and sort this mess of a family."

It's all easier said than done, however, as she described the whole situation as a "hot mess".

The cast of MobLand turned out for the premiere of the second season in London yesterday, where Brosnan spoke about the brief falling out from earlier this year where Hardy departed the show and later returned.

Describing the whole thing as a "storm in a teacup", Brosnan said: "I love the dude. I love Tom Hardy. I'm a massive fan of the man's work. Truly."

"We are rock solid as a company, as a family. Everyone shows up for work, and everybody's just there on the spot.

"It moves very fast so it's not like we go out and socialise and go to the pub or anything like that. Everyone goes home to their families and before you know it, you've done 10 episodes."

MobLand season 1 can be streamed on Paramount+ now, while season 2 premieres on 18 September.
