Coronation Street cast share first look at Christmas filming in new festive video

Translate

It's going to be a white Christmas on the cobbles as Coronation Street is currently filming their festive episodes, with the cast clad in cosy outfits and the Rovers getting a peculiar tree.

The ITV soap is gearing up to celebrate the holidays as they're now working on some of the storylines airing in December. In a since-deleted TikTok clip shared by Brody Michaelis star Ryan Mulvey (and subsequently by fan accounts), the cast and crew can be seen enjoying Weatherfield's fake snow.

Ryan gives his followers a first look at the snowy cobbles, with actors Alison King, David Neilson and Sue Devaney, who play Carla, Roy and Debbie respectively, pose for the camera in their big coats.

Also getting ready for a big Christmas do is pub landlady Eva Price, played by Catherine Tyldesley, who appears to have fully recovered from a nasty fall down the stairs caused by teen Sam Blakeman.

At the Rovers, Glenda, played by Jodie Prenger, shows off the pub's pink Christmas tree, while outside some engage in a snowball battle.

The soap hasn't revealed the storylines for December just yet, but it appears that the focus will be on the nasty antics of Jodie Ramsey as her plan to steal David Platt from her sister Shona has recently begun.

Jodie star Olivia Frances Brown has just signed to stay on Corrie for another year, meaning fans will get to see a lot more of her.

Meanwhile, Gareth Pierce has teased the bond between his character, Todd Grimshaw, and James Bailey, played by Jason Callender, will grow stronger. After getting close last year amid Todd's ordeal with abusive husband Theo Silverton, Todd and James will rekindle their friendship.

"James is a good friend at this stage – I know that some of our audience are going to wonder if there's romance there," Gareth told Digital Spy. "They haven't told me yet, so I can't give a spoiler!"

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
