Frosinone will be without Austria international Florian Grillitsch for several weeks after he underwent surgery for a sports hernia.
The midfielder only made the move to Serie A from SC Braga midway through August and has made two appearances for the club, one in the league and another the Coppa Italia.
However, fans will have to wait a little longer to see him in action properly, because Grillitsch sustained a sports hernia that required surgery.
It was originally assumed that this was a flexor issue, but tests showed the extent of the damage.
The hernioplasty was performed using the TAPP technique by Dr Herwig Pokorny at the Franziskus Spital Margareten in Vienna.
A statement from the club confirms that he will begin the rehabilitation process over the next few days.
According to reports, the Austria international is set to remain out of action for circa four weeks.
He has also played for Werder Bremen, Hoffenheim, Ajax and Real Valledolid.
