Officials spotted the ball incorrectly on Oregon's game-tying two-point conversion attempt late in Saturday's 17-15 home loss to UCLA, the Big Ten said Sunday.

Trailing 17-9, Oregon scored on a 44-yard touchdown pass to Evan Stewart with 2:16 left. The Ducks failed on a two-point conversion run, but UCLA drew a personal foul facemask penalty. Officials spotted the ball half the distance to the goal from the original spot of the try, but the Big Ten said the spot should have been half the distance to the goal from the end of the run on Oregon's first attempt.

The Ducks' second two-point attempt failed when UCLA stopped Jordon Davison short of the goal line.

"The Big Ten has been in contact with its officiating team from Saturday's game regarding the error and will continue to emphasize consistent application of the playing rules," the league said in a statement.
