Ex-Kaizer Chiefs star says Rushwin Dortley should replace Miguel after derby loss

Translate

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye questioned the exclusion of Rushwin Dortley from the Amakhosi starting eleven after their 2-1 loss to Orlando Pirates this past weekend.

The talented defender returned to action last week against TS Galaxy after 18 months out due to injury.

However, Miguel Inacio replaced him for the derby against Pirates.

Khanye felt Dortley should have started after impressing upon his return.

“The Chiefs coach made a blunder. I don’t understand why he’s putting Dortley outside,” he told iDiski TV.

“Where’s the continuity as a team? Starting with the coach as a leader.

“These guys they never conceded [against Galaxy]. If that game had ended 4-1, 3-2, 3-1, you could understand they conceded.

“Now, solid performance. Leave two of them – Moloisane and Dortley so you can see what they can give you [as a coach].

Khanye felt Fernando Da Cruz got it wrong by opting for Miguel. He feels Chiefs would have played better if Dortley started with Thabo Moloisane at the back.

“Now, you start with Miguel, worse is he got a red card in today’s [Saturday] game. He’s more of a sweeper but is always late which doesn’t make sense for me.”

Dortley impressed upon Chiefs return

Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz might opt to bring back Dortley ahead of Miguel in the coming matches. The duo kept a clean sheet as Amakhosi emerged 3-0 winners against TS Galaxy last week in the Carling Knockout Cup round of 16.
