Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has thanked President Bola Tinubu, the people of Ekiti State and Nigerians at large for their support and goodwill during his inauguration for a second term in office on Friday.

This is just as he promised shared prosperity for the state in the second term.

Oyebanji said he was “deeply humbled by the overwhelming show of love, solidarity and goodwill that accompanied the historic occasion.”

This was contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Yinka Oyebode, made available in Ado Ekiti on Sunday.

He said the successful inauguration marked the beginning of another phase of service to the people of Ekiti State.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building on the achievements of its first term and pursuing policies and programmes that would promote shared prosperity, inclusive development and improved living standards for all citizens of the state.

“Together, we shall continue to work towards shared prosperity for all Ekiti citizens and make our dear state the number-one destination of choice for those seeking a place to live, work, invest and relax,” Oyebanji said.

The governor stated, “We owe Mr President a huge debt of gratitude for his love and support for Ekiti State. The impact of his policies and the resources made available to subnational governments have contributed significantly to the achievements recorded by our administration.”

He also thanked Vice President Kashim Shettima for attending the inauguration on behalf of the President and presiding over the ceremony, noting that the Vice President’s presence marked his third visit to Ekiti State in 2026.

Oyebanji also appreciated the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio; Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau; All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; and members of the party’s National Working Committee for their support and participation in the historic event.

He also thanked the state governors and deputy governors in attendance, as well as former governors of Ekiti State, Niyi Adebayo, Ayodele Fayose, Segun Oni and Dr Kayode Fayemi, for their presence and support.

He also appreciated former governors from other states, as well as National and State Assembly members who graced the event.

He thanked the judiciary in Ekiti State, under the leadership of the Chief Judge, Justice Adekanye Ogunmoye, for its support, with particular acknowledgement of Justice Ogunmoye for administering the oaths of office and allegiance during the inauguration, as well as the retired Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Justice Oyebisi Omoleye, for her presence and support.

Oyebanji also thanked traditional rulers, including the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the Chairman, Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers and the Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, Oba Adejimi Adu-Alagbado; and the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejuyigbe, as well as other eminent personalities, political leaders and co-contestants in the 2026 Ekiti governorship election who honoured him with their presence at the inauguration.
