Jami McGuigan Joins Select Management Group’s Canadian Team As Talent Manager

Translate

EXCLUSIVE: Select Management Group, the next-generation talent management firm, today announced that veteran talent booker, producer, and strategic partnerships leader Jami McGuigan has joined the Select Canada team as a talent manager.

McGuigan will help grow the company’s Canadian presence and scale its efforts to cultivate the next generation of Canadian talent. Her work will focus in particular on digital talk show and format creators, helping clients develop original programming and build partnerships with brands and media companies.

McGuigan joins as Select continues to expand its Canadian footprint following the January launch of its Toronto office, the company’s first international location. She brings over clients including Michael Mendieta and Roxie Nafousi.

Before joining Select, McGuigan worked with top media and entertainment properties including Comic Relief, Equality Now, and Bell Media across talent booking, strategic partnerships, and show development. Prior to that, she spent nearly a decade at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, booking and producing musical performances, and worked on Broadway Video productions at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Earlier in her career, McGuigan helped book and produce events across the Dick Clark portfolio, including the Golden Globe Awards, American Music Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. As a producer, her work has contributed to Emmy-, Peabody-, and Webby Award-winning productions.

“Jami has spent her career at the intersection of talent and entertainment, and she brings an incredible network and understanding of the industry to Select Canada,” said Select Management Group Partner and Head of East Coast Caroline Nardilla. “We’re excited to have her helping us discover and expand opportunities for the next generation of Canadian talent as we continue to grow our presence in the market.”

Since launching in January, Select Canada has gone from 20 to more than 40 creators on its talent roster. The Toronto office provides on-the-ground representation and support across 360-talent management and brand partnerships, while connecting next-generation Canadian talent to Select’s broader network across North America.

Whereas traditional agencies have gotten increasingly into the creator economy as time has gone on, with film & TV as foundational pillars, Select’s early expertise came in the creator space. They’re best known for representing stars of the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives franchise, and producing both the original Hulu show and its upcoming Orange County spin-off, out November 12.

Select Management is part of the Propagate Content family of companies, which also includes Artists First, Authentic Talent & Literary Management, Parker Management, and Sway Social, among others. In July, they announced the promotion of talent manager Paul Luckenbaugh to the newly created role of Head of Theatrical Talent, signaling their growing investment in filmed entertainment, amid the growing industrywide convergence of traditional and creator-led talent.
