EPL: João Pedro wins EA Sport Premier League August player award

Chelsea forward João Pedro has been named the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month for August 2026 after making an impressive start to the new campaign.

The award is the Brazilian striker’s first Premier League Player of the Month honour and makes him the first Chelsea player to claim the prize since Cole Palmer won it in September 2024.

In a post obtained from Chelsea’s website on Friday, Pedro beat Palmer and six other shortlisted players in the public vote to take home the award.

The 2026/27 season began in spectacular fashion for the forward, who recorded four goal contributions in Chelsea’s opening two Premier League matches, helping the Blues secure victories in both games.

Pedro opened his account just 33 seconds into Chelsea’s opening fixture against Fulham before setting up Palmer for the winning goal.

He continued his fine form in Chelsea’s first home league match against Brighton & Hove Albion, finding the net with a composed finish before providing another assist for Palmer to seal the decisive goal.

His two goals and two assists across the opening matches quickly established him as one of the standout performers at the start of the Premier League season.

Those performances earned Pedro widespread support from fans around the world, with the public vote ultimately confirming him as August’s Player of the Month.

The Brazilian forward was presented with his award at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground.
