EPL: Iwobi, Bassey Feature As Fulham’s Winless Run Continues After 1-1 Draw With Man United
Fulham’s winless start to the 2026/27 Premier League season continued after a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey were in action for Fulham. While Bassey played for 90 minutes, Iwobi was taken off on 71 minutes.
The draw means Fulham are now winless in first five Premier League matches (three defeats, two draws).
Fulham took the lead in the 63rd minute through a Lisandro Martínez own goal. Bassey’s shot was mishandled by United goalkeeper Senne Lammens, and the ball deflected off Martínez into the net.
But United equalised in the 89th minute when Matheus Cunha scored from outside the box, after his effort took a deflection off David Affengruber that wrong-footed Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
The draw extends Fulham’s longest winless start to a league campaign since 2020-21.
For United, they are now winless in their last three league matches, recording two draws and one defeat.
Fulham are in 19th place on two points while United occupy 12th and have five points on the log.
