PUTRAJAYA: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar is confident civil servants are ready to ensure government policies, including 2027 Budget, are implemented swiftly and effectively.

He said the commitment of all civil servants was crucial to ensuring that the people could share the benefits of economic growth.

"For all civil servants, I am confident that we are always ready to shoulder these trusts and responsibilities as a National Covenant and continue to support government policies through swift and effective implementation, to ensure that the extraordinary benefits of economic growth can be felt by all," he said in a statement today.

Shamsul Azri also expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also Finance Minister, for tabling Budget 2027 in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Themed "Reaching for the Skies, While Anchored on Our Values", the budget allocates RM459.8 billion, comprising RM376.8 billion for operating expenditure and RM83 billion for development expenditure, based on eight key priorities.

The measures announced included raising the minimum wage to RM2,000, various tax incentives and exemptions, as well as subsidies, assistance and incentives totalling RM80 billion.

The budget also provides for Special Financial Assistance of RM1,500 for civil servants and RM750 for government retirees.

Shamsul Azri said the 2027 Budget reflected the government's commitment to continuing to prioritise the welfare of the people while balancing national development, economic sustainability and fiscal resilience.
