Voices from 17 countries join Oct. 7 solidarity song for Israel, Jewish people

A new international song featuring voices representing 17 countries was released ahead of the third anniversary of the October 7 massacre, with organizers calling on people around the world to sing it together on the anniversary.

“The Whole World Sings Together,” created and produced by Friends of Zion Heritage Center founder Dr. Mike Evans, was designed as a message of solidarity with Israel and the Jewish people and of remembrance for the victims of October 7.

The music video brings together voices representing the United States, Israel, China, India, Brazil, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, France, Hungary, Iran, Yemen, Germany, Argentina, South Korea, Great Britain, Italy, Russia and Mexico.

Friends of Zion said the project sought to bring together people from different languages and cultures around a message that “the Jewish people are not alone.”

Organizers are inviting people around the world to watch and share the video and sing along on October 7, the third anniversary of Hamas’s 2023 attack on southern Israel.

Inspired by ‘We Are the World’

Evans said the idea was partly inspired by “We Are the World,” the 1985 charity single written by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson and produced by Quincy Jones. The recording brought together dozens of prominent American musicians as USA for Africa and raised money for famine relief in Africa.

“In 1985, the world sang together for Africa. Now, the world must sing together for the Jewish people,” Evans said.

“October 7 cannot become another date that fades from memory,” he added. “We will remember the lives that were taken, the families that were shattered, the hostages who suffered, and the people who continue to carry wounds the world cannot see.”

The new song centers on themes of remembrance, solidarity and recovery, with its recurring line declaring: “The whole world sings together.”

According to Friends of Zion, the October 7 initiative aims to create a shared international moment in which supporters of Israel and Jewish communities can participate, regardless of where they live.

The official music video for “The Whole World Sings Together” has been released on YouTube ahead of the anniversary.
