Coronation Street reveals first look at new Rovers rift over Eva's daughter

Translate

Coronation Street has shared a first look at an upcoming rift at the Rovers involving Eva Price's daughter, Susie, and Glenda Shuttleworth.

Last week, the soap announced a new storyline for the Driscoll family, in which they discover that a video of young Susie singing and dancing has been posted on the Rovers' social media pages.

In scenes set to air on Thursday, Ben believes the video should be taken down for security reasons following the ordeal involving Will and his groomer, Megan.

When Glenda sees the video, she tells them that Susie has real talent and suggests she sign up for Little Big Shotz, the stage school she runs in the community centre.

In the preview clip, Ben and Eva chide Susie for posting on the Rovers’ social media, warning her not to do it again.

Eva’s intrigued when Glenda declares that Susie has 'star quality' and offers to sign her up to Little Big Shotz. Susie’s thrilled and refuses to take no for an answer.

Beyond the preview clip, Ben becomes concerned about Susie and lashes out, believing that Glenda should be punished for attempting to push Susie into the spotlight.

Speaking about the new storyline, our Corrie insider teased trouble ahead between Ben and Glenda.

"Glenda is blown away by the video of Susie singing her heart out," said our insider. "She recognises her serious talent and is keen to snap her up for Little Big Shotz.

"But unfortunately, Glenda's enthusiasm about Susie doesn't go down too well with concerned dad Ben. Could this tense situation affect Glenda’s future at the Rovers?"

While Glenda's future at the Rovers might be in doubt, we do know she isn't leaving the cobbles anytime soon. Back in March, Glenda's actor, Jodie Prenger, confirmed that she had signed on for another year.

"I've just signed a new contract, so I'm going to be on Corrie for another year. I always get nervous about whether or not they'll want me to stay, so I was thrilled when I got the offer," she said at the time.

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
