Landman Season 3 Officially Sets Up Gallino's Replacement

Landman’s season 2 finale drastically changed the status quo ahead of season 3. After getting squeezed out of his old job, Tommy decided to cut his own puppet strings and go independent with a family-run business. He filled out his staff and board of directors with all his closest friends and loved ones, and took money from his old nemesis, Andy García’s Gallino, to fund the whole thing. Now that Tommy and Gallino are working together, they can bury the hatchet and work toward a common goal instead of messing with each other’s heads and constantly trying to get the upper hand.
But Gallino made for a great villain in season 2. García brought his undeniable charms to this sinister snake-oil salesman and made him endlessly fun to watch. He’ll continue to be just as captivating as he takes on an even more significant role in Landman season 3, but he won’t be a baddie anymore. Gallino and Tommy are now officially on the same side, aiming to achieve the same goal (make a boatload of money on this new drilling venture), so Landman will have to refocus on a new big bad.
Taylor Sheridan could bring in a new character to be the primary antagonistic force in Landman’s next season. His frequent collaborator Michael Kelly has already signed on to join Landman’s third season as William Crockett, the leader of the biggest and most powerful oil management firm in the world, so he could be the new big bad. But I think the perfect Gallino replacement already exists.
In Landman’s first season, Demi Moore was massively underutilized in the role of Cami Miller. But in season 2, after her husband passed away and she took over his business, Cami became a much more substantial character, much more worthy of an Oscar nominee’s talents. In season 3, she could replace Gallino as the show’s villain.
Landman Season 3 Could Make Demi Moore's Cami Miller The New Big Bad
Landman’s third season could make Cami the new big bad. Tommy’s new company will be in direct competition with his old colleagues at M-Tex, so Cami will likely become a much more antagonistic figure in season 3. Season 2 already introduced us to her take-no-prisoners approach to business. It also introduced us to a deeper vulnerability that season 1 hadn’t shown, but she never let that vulnerability show in front of any of her corporate rivals who would see it as a weakness.
When she was home alone, mourning the loss of her husband, being reminded of that loss, she broke down crying, and wailed so loud and so long that it started to bother the nearby prairie dog population. But when she’s in a boardroom, or at a conference, standing in front of a room full of wolves waiting to pounce, Cami is calm, collected, and ruthless. She won’t take any guff from her corporate rivals, and she’s not as interested in being charming as her husband was.
So, when she finds out that Tommy has gone over her head and become her direct competitor, she won’t take the news well. Cami will launch a full-on war against Tommy’s new company, determined to bring it down before it can get off the ground, and Tommy will rally his troops — his treasurer Nate, his lawyer Rebecca, his president (and son) Cooper — to fight back.
Landman’s third season might’ve been delayed until 2027, knocking the show’s yearly release schedule off-kilter, but it’s shaping up to be the show’s most thrilling outing yet. Tommy’s new independent, family-run business is essentially the Bob’s Burgers of the oil industry, and it’ll turn Landman into a workplace show (in a really great way). Plus, the stakes have never been higher — this entire venture is resting on Tommy’s shoulders.
