2026 wage subsidy distribution awaits budget approval: Ministry

Translate

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) said the distribution of the fourth-quarter 2026 Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) was still undergoing coordination and budget submission with the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu).

“Currently, the distribution of the 2026 BSU is still at the coordination and budget submission stage with the Ministry of Finance,” Director General of Industrial Relations and Workers’ Social Security at Kemnaker Indah Anggoro Putri told ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.

“Kemnaker continues to coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to ensure the availability of budget support and technical readiness for the program’s implementation,” Indah added.

She explained that the BSU program provides eligible workers with Rp300,000 per month for three months, amounting to a total of Rp900,000 paid in a lump sum. The assistance is part of the government's economic stimulus measures to maintain public purchasing power in the fourth quarter of 2026.

“Kemnaker hopes the BSU can serve as an economic cushion for workers who meet the eligibility criteria, while also helping to maintain public purchasing power,” she said.

Indah added that recipients were expected to use the assistance wisely to cover their daily expenses, particularly basic necessities and family needs.

“Thus, the BSU not only helps ease workers’ financial burden but is also expected to support household consumption and sustain national economic activity,” she said.

Meanwhile, the government has once again allocated the BSU for workers in the fourth quarter of 2026 as part of its economic stimulus measures for the period.

The assistance is set at Rp300,000 per month for October, November, and December 2026.

However, the payments will not be made separately each month. Instead, the government plans to disburse the assistance in a single payment covering all three months, meaning eligible workers will receive a total of Rp900,000.

Members of the public can check their BSU eligibility status by entering their national identification number (NIK) on the official website at https://bsu.kemnaker.go.id/
