‘The Murder Of JonBenét Ramsey’ Gets December Release Date On Netflix & First-Look Photo Of Melissa McCarthy & Clive Owen As Girl’s Parents

As expected, Netflix will tie the premiere of The Murder Of JonBenét Ramsey to the 30th anniversary of the six-year-old beauty queen’s killing on Dec. 25, 1996. The true-crime limited series will debut globally December 10th, 2026. Along with the date, the streamer released an official first-look photo featuring Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen as Patsy and John Bennett Ramsey.

The announcement comes two and a half months after Netflix closed a deal to acquire the completed series from David C. Glasser’s 101 Studios, which had been in turnaround since its original platform, Paramount+, opted not to proceed with it late last year.

The Murder Of JonBenét Ramsey is co-written by Harrison Query and Tommy Wallach, directed by Anne Sewitsky and showrun by Richard LaGravenese. It centers on the infamous unsolved Boulder, CO murder case and the devastating personal and public reckoning that followed the death of JonBenét Ramsey, with the story told through multiple perspectives, including the Ramsey family, investigators, and the media.

LaGravenese, Query, Wallach, McCarthy and Sewitsky executive produce with Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin for 101 Studios.
