Here are the highlights from Billboard‘s R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players and New York fashion Week, and what fans can look forward to at the 2026 VMAs in a couple of weeks.

Tetris Kelly: It’s going down in the world of hip-hop, and from the stars showing up to New York Fashion Week to the heavyweights competing at the VMAs in L.A., and highlights from our very own Hip-Hop Power Players event. We’re breaking it all down on Billboard News, sponsored by Text Now.

Billboard brought the culture out in NYC as we honored Jill Scott, Kehlani and The Roots, from speeches that captivated the room, to live performances like Lucky Daye and Yung Miami, New York is the place to be. New York Fashion Week also brought out hip-hop’s best for fashion and parties. Streamer Kai Cenat was the center of attention at the event and met up with the likes of Shenseea and Lauryn Hill.

At the end of September, the eyes go back to L.A. for the MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 27. Best hip-hop nominees include Cardi B, Don Tolliver, Drake, Megan the Stallion, Travis Scott and Tyler, The Creator. We can’t wait for MTV to announce the performers. Snoop Dogg will be hosting.
