Rafael van der Vaart Questions Leaving Ajax Top Striker Out Of Super Eagles

Dutch legend Rafael van der Vaart says he is finding it hard to believe that on loan Ajax striker Tolu Arokodare is not in the plans of the head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Arokodare who is on loan to the Dutch giants from English Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers hit the ground running at the club almost immediately, and has grown into a firm fan favourite.
He has scored five goals in eight games for the club with two assists as well. Yesterday he was dropped to the bench due to what the coach described as a bout of fever that affected the 25 year old.
His form is supposed to at least earn him in a spot in the team of Nigeria for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers later this month, but head coach Eric Chelle hasn’t looked his way since November when he took part in the ill fated world cup qualifiers playoff.
” He ( Tolu) is a proper striker in the box and also not bad with his combination play. He has to work on certain areas in his game but overall he is a very good option to have in attack”, he said.
” I learnt he will be around for the international break because he is not in the plans of the coach of Nigeria. That is surprising but it will work well for him to continue working on the areas in his game”.
