Ekiti fed varsity sets October 12 resumption for returning students

The Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti, has fixed October 12, 2026, for the resumption of returning students for the 2026/2027 academic session, while fresh students are expected back on November 2.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, announced the dates while addressing a conference at the institution, according to a statement made available in Ado Ekiti on Saturday.
Aribisala said the university was committed to maintaining a stable academic calendar to ensure students completed their programmes without unnecessary delays.
He said, “I am happy to inform you that the university completed the first academic session (2025/2026) this month, while the 2026/2027 academic session will begin on October 12, 2026.
“While returning students are to resume on Monday, October 12, 2026, fresh students will resume on Monday, November 2nd, 2026,” he said.

The vice-chancellor stressed the importance of maintaining a predictable academic structure, saying, “The university is committed to ensuring that students progress through their programmes without unnecessary disruption or delay.
“The university will continue to maintain a stable academic calendar, ensuring that academic activities, examinations, results processing and other academic processes are properly coordinated to support the timely completion of students’ programmes”.
He added that “the university management remains focused on consolidating the gains of the maiden session, strengthening academic delivery and creating a conducive environment for teaching, learning and research”.
