Kompany: 'I'm proud of what we achieved at City'
Vincent Kompany, Bayern Munich manager and former Man City captain:
I played 11 years for the club and I've loved all the years I've played for the club. Everything we've achieved and done on the pitch I'm really proud of.Everything else, as a player you're not a part of that. And right now as a coach of Bayern Munich I'm not too occupied with that topic as much as preparing for the game next week and the game we have to win tomorrow and everything I have as a coach.
City guilty verdict recap
Unless you've been living under a rock these past few weeks, you will know what I am on about.
It's one of the biggest football stories ever.
Last week, Manchester City were found guilty of ‘all charges related to serious breaches’ of the Premier League's regulations and the majority of those in relation to its failure to co-operate with the competition’s probe.
In a damning 40-page verdict City, who won eight trophies during the spell involved, artificially inflated sponsorship agreements and pumped money into the club from its Abu Dhabi owners via disguised payments in a bid to swerve Premier League spending rules.
City have appealed the verdict and the wait for an outcome and/or punishment on this case may have to wait a little while yet.
And well, we are going to hear from Enzo Maresca at 10:30 am and the rest of the managerial cohort today.
Former City captain and now Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany has also had his say.
It's all coming up soon.
Good morning!
It's a big day.
'But the Premier League doesn't actually return until tomorrow,' I hear you say.
No, it doesn't, but this is the first time we will truly hear the thoughts of managers since Manchester City were found guilty of breaking financial rules. And not just that, but City boss Enzo Maresca, too.
The bosses will have been briefed by their PR and Comms managers, so now I'm intrigued to see what they have to say, if anything.
Head coaches as low down as League Two have already vented their frustrations; it's a situation affecting the entire pyramid.
