Ajibade hints at Odemwingie 10-year NFF exposé

Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has hinted at a forthcoming podcast episode featuring former Super Eagles striker Peter Osaze Odemwingie, which is expected to delve into his decade-long experiences with the Nigeria Football Federation and other aspects of his career, The PUNCH reports.

A promotional poster shared on social media for episode 14 of the project carries the title, “The NFF. The Feuds. The Silence,” alongside photographs and the caption that the episode is coming soon on YouTube, Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Ajibade, writing on the announcement, said the story being told had taken ten years to piece together, and pointed to Odemwingie’s playing career, in which he wore the Super Eagles jersey 65 times and scored 38 Premier League goals before qualifying as a PGA professional golfer.

“Some stories take years to tell. This one took ten. He wore the Super Eagles shirt 65 times. Scored 38 Premier League goals. Became a PGA Professional Golfer. And through all of it, the NFF, the feuds, the silence, he never stopped believing that God was in every chapter,” the post read.

Ajibade added that the episode would not hold back on the details.

The NFF has frequently found itself at the centre of controversy, from disputes over coaching appointments and unpaid bonuses to clashes with players and criticism over the handling of the national teams, making the pair’s promised revelation one that many Nigerian football followers are likely to anticipate closely.

Meanwhile, Ajibade was in action on Tuesday alongside fellow Super Falcons star, Jennifer Echegini, as Paris Saint-Germain Women fought back to hold Real Madrid Women 1-1 away in the UEFA Women’s Champions League at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium.
