Asian Games 2026: Naruka, Dhaliwal win India’s first-ever mixed skeet medal with bronze

India’s Anant Jeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal won the bronze medal in the mixed skeet team event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 on Thursday, securing the country’s first-ever Asian Games medal in the category.
The Indian pair finished with 44 hits before being eliminated after the sixth series, while China and South Korea progressed to the final series to decide the gold medal. China eventually prevailed 52-51 over Korea.
India had made a slow start to the four-team final, managing seven hits in the opening series compared to eight each for China and Korea. Naruka and Dhaliwal, however, steadily recovered to keep themselves in medal contention.

After 32 shots, India was on 29, one behind China and Korea, which were level on 30. Qatar, the fourth team in the final, had been eliminated by then.
China and Korea then stretched their advantage after 40 shots, moving to 38 apiece, while India was on 36.
Naruka and Dhaliwal responded strongly in the next series scoring 44. However, China moved to 45, and Korea also reached 44, leaving India in third place and ending its campaign with bronze.
The two remaining teams then contested the seventh and final series, with China finished on 52 (WR). Korea ended with 51 hits, confirming gold for China and silver for Korea.
The medal was Naruka and Dhaliwal’s second of the Games. Naruka had helped India win bronze in the men’s skeet team event alongside Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Bhavtegh Singh Gill, while Dhaliwal was part of the women’s skeet team bronze with Raiza Dhillon and Maheshwari Chauhan on Wednesday.
Naruka had also won the individual skeet silver at the Hangzhou Asian Games.
