SAN ILDEFONSO, Ilocos Sur — A La Union high school has denied reports circulating online about an alleged shooting threat on its campus, saying its verification and investigation found no basis for the claim.

In a Tuesday advisory, the administrators of Don Eulogio de Guzman Memorial National High School in the La Union town of Bauan said it immediately looked into the information after the rumor began circulating online.

The school also confirmed that no learner or school personnel have been harmed or injured.

The administration assured parents, learners and personnel that the safety and well-being of the school community remained its top priority, adding that it continued to maintain safety measures and monitor concerns affecting the campus.

It also urged the public to refrain from sharing or reposting unverified information, saying rumors could cause unnecessary fear and concern among students, parents, personnel, and the community./Kenneth P. Tabin/Contributor/coa
