Amazon Prime Big Deal Days Discounts Are Really Lame — Except for These 16 Products

The mega retailer's October Prime Day sale is full of duds. Here's what's actually worth buying ahead of the official start time

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, Rolling Stone may receive an affiliate commission.

Amazon’s July Prime Day has become the biggest sale event of the year, but there’s another Amazon sale that’s almost identical: Prime Big Deal Days. The fall event, often called October Prime Day is a Prime Day-level sale delivering discounts on everything from tech to clothing to household necessities to gas (you read that right).

Just like Prime Day, Big Deal Days promises discounts on name-brand products, Amazon devices and labels, and smaller brands. The primary purpose of the sale is for early holiday shopping, but it’s also timed for fall/winter wardrobe updates and offers a chance to restock household essentials that you would buy anyway.

At a Glance: Amazon Prime Big Deal Days 2026 Details

• Dates: Oct. 6–7
• Prime member-exclusive event (get a 30-day free trial here)
• Shop discounts across all categories here

But here’s the thing about Big Deal Days: Most of the discounts are very lame. There are hundreds of products that you’ve probably already seen and past on, and most of the deals are not exclusive to Big Deal Days. These products are almost always on sale, or they’re just extra.

However, among the thousands of duds, there are a handful of Big Deal Days discounts worth considering. These include a few fashion and tech items that aren’t on sale very often, like Levi’s jeans or Apple products, but also everyday essentials that you might buy anyway.

Another effective way to shop Big Deal Days (that most don’t realize) is to sign up for streaming services. Amazon is offering some great deals on streaming services through Prime Video, like free trials to Paramount+ and Peacock, that you can’t get when signing up for the services directly.

To help make sense of the monstrously-large, not-so-great event, our product editors combed through the sale to find a selection of the best Prime Big Deal Days discounts that are actually worth shopping. Scroll down to see our picks, and find out more about Prime Big Deal Days below.

What Is Amazon Prime Big Deal Days?

Prime Big Deal Days is Amazon’s annual October sale event for Prime members. Just like the retailer’s flagship Prime Day sale in June/July, Big Deal Days serves up a massive selection of discounts in every product category.

Prime Big Deal Days 2026 Dates: Oct. 6–7

Big Deal Days 2026 kicks off on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at midnight Pacific time (3 a.m. ET) and ends on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 11:59 p.m. ET (Oct. 8 at 2:59 a.m. ET).

Big Deal Days Is a Prime Member-Exclusive Event

Another important thing to know about Big Deal Days is that the deals are only available to Prime members. Luckily, if you don’t have a subscription, you can get a 30-day free trial to shop all the deals without paying for a membership.

Amazon will still have plenty of non-Big Deal Days discounts during the sale, like they always do, but the sale-specific deals will be better than the typical ones.
