Automated traffic enforcement to arrive on Cairo’s streets soon

Translate

Cairo’s streets are set to welcome an automated traffic officer in the near future.

Traffic expert Ahmed Hisham explained this system—already implemented in the New Administrative Capital and along major roads and arteries leading to New Alamein City— comes as part of broader efforts to modernize the traffic management system and leverage technology to detect traffic violations.

In a phone interview with TeN TV channel, Hisham explained that this automated traffic officer is equipped with advanced technological capabilities, enabling it to detect certain traffic violations that might go unnoticed by conventional radar systems or standard surveillance cameras.

He added that this system will see the deployment of modern devices designed to detect speeding and traffic violations in real time, in order to enhance road safety and reduce accidents.

The state has developed a modern road network, while simultaneously introducing new technological tools to monitor traffic flow and ensure compliance with traffic rules with the aim of safeguarding citizens.

Hisham also highlighted the implementation of a “single-window” system regarding the development of traffic-related services.

This initiative streamlines the processes for issuing and renewing licenses and addressing traffic-related issues, thereby saving time and effort for citizens—in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to modernize the traffic system.
