Inquirer feted in UST media awards
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) was one of the media organizations and personalities recognized in this year’s revival of the USTV+ Awards, honors conferred by the University of Santo Tomas (UST).
The paper received the Media Excellence Award in Technology and Innovation, based on the results of an online voting and scoring system involving the university’s student body and a panel of experts. The category evaluates a publication’s content, relevance and impact in upholding human dignity and the common good.

Inquirer associate publisher Juliet Labog-Javellana received the USTV+ trophy on PDI’s behalf during the awards ceremonies held Sept. 23 at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.
After a 10-year hiatus, the USTV+ Awards return this year, with the theme “Speak the Truth in Love.” The honorees come from a wide field of media practice, from journalism to entertainment, both in the traditional platforms and in online spaces. /das
