Senator Loren Legarda has not claimed her salary for the last three months as she continues to extend her medical leave, Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian said Sunday.

"August, September, October, tatlong buwan [hindi kumukuha ng sweldo si Sen. Legarda]," Gatchalian told Super Radyo dzBB.

(Senator Legarda has not claimed her salary for the last three months, which are for August, September, and October.)

"Ang kanyang (Sen. Legarda) pag-abiso is on a weekly basis [kung mag-e-extend ng medical leave]... I wish her all the best," he added.

(She advised us if she will extend her medical leave on a weekly basis.)

Legarda has been on extended medical leave since August 3. The last time she was seen at the Senate was on July 29, during the plenary session.

Session at the Senate is currently adjourned and will resume on November 9.

Legarda’s spokesperson, Atty. Tony La Viña, previously said the 66-year old senator was undergoing medical treatment in France for a lung and autoimmune condition and was taking time to rest, as her condition worsens under stress or tension.

The senator and her son, Batangas 1st District Representative Leandro Leviste, are facing complaints for plunder and graft in connection with the alleged failure of the latter’s renewable energy firm to provide solar power, as mandated in its congressional franchise. —RF, GMA News
